"La Prusia begins where the road ends."
Social Space : Community
Organizing Principles

Landscape and
architectural form/structure
being inextricably linked to
an emphasis on social
interaction and
collaboration in La Prusia
must be correspondingly
organized to both
anticipate and
accommodate program
and circulation in such a
way to enhance the
potential of social design
through ecological
sensibility and
environmental kinship.

The diversity of these
public and intimate
landscape elements
contributes significantly to
the visual richness of the
overall site and should
guide all development
considerations to prevent
future encroachment.

Recommendations :

Existing productive
vegetation is the datum for
the organization of social
spaces.

Preserved groves of trees
are delineated with a
physical no-cut/no-fill
marker based on their
specific canopy footprint.

The outer-most drip edge of
the tree canopy serves as
the dominant means of
demarcation for the
preserved areas.

Surface lines extending
from the horizontal layout
of the protected areas
informs the spatial
arrangement of all further
spatial and structural
interventions.

These protected areas will
be designated as public
realm and will be the
responsibility of
contextually proxemic
neighborhoods in
conjunction with assigned
advisors through Casas de
la Esperanza.

Any excavation or
development impact from
the construction of
buildings and infrastructure
will be directly articulated
through this framework.

Future Planting Principles :

All future planting outside
of the preservation spaces
will reinforce the concept
of a cultivated nature,
where native species are
carefully selected and
reintroduced in appropriate
ways which reflect and
enhance the diversity and
spatial integrity of the
preservation areas.
